I am sort of afraid that my old truck will do this one day.

A Hilux would never do that to you.

Now pump the tank full of Viagra and Red Bull and it will stiffen right up...Until the motor explodes

Got a full frame reinforcement kit for my Tacoma on order. Trail-Gear makes a pretty good one that boxes in the frame and reinforces the weaker points.

A good undercoating afterwards makes a good truck fantastic.

not sure I would agree that a truck that does this is good.

I'm still not sure how the Dana corporation could have messed up so bad on rust proofing these frames when they built them.

I don't know if Dana did rustproofing that you're talking about. Either way, a wee bit of rust proofing or galvanizing or whatever... isn't going to change the fact that Asian vehicles in general have a reputation for red cancer. I think its the thin metal they use all around coupled with low quality steel.

Michigan ore for the win.

Dana built the frame for Toyota and the truck itself was built in California at the NUMMI plant.

My dad had a 1995 T-100 extended cab. It was parked in front of the house and rear ended by a C4 Corvette. The Corvette, being a door stop, got under the truck, bent the frame and driveshaft (not nearly this bad), the driveshaft bent up and made the floor buckle and the bench seats now had a peak at the 60/40 split, and made the rear axle no longer parallel to the front wheels. The truck was lifted, thrown, rotated 90 degrees, and ended up on the neighbors lawn.

The kid with the Corvette lived down the street from us.

If I can find pics I'll make a post.
